Brian has developed a diverse river career. He has worked on a couple of recent television projects including "A Question of Judgement", a river documentary that is part of the Uncharted Territory series, and "The Last Wild River Ride", a WTBS film which chronicled the first descent of Ethiopia's Tekeze River in 1986. His travel experiences have enabled Brian to establish himself as a professional travel photographer. His work has appeared in adventure travel publications, brochures and expositions in his adopted hometown of Portland, Oregon. He also teaches guide courses and river rescue clinics in the Northwest. |

| His
interest in foreign travel and the outdoors began early.
He grew up in Colorado where he learned to climb and
backcountry ski and he roadtripped annually through
Mexico with his family. Brian began river guiding in the
summers during his college years. He earned his
undergraduate degree at Montana State University where he
majored in Earth Sciences/Geography and minored in World
History. Brian currently divides his time between the river and his business remodeling historic homes in Portland. He says the combination of careers gives him a well rounded outlook on life and allows him to spend time both on rivers and at home with his family. |
